# Amr Gharib > Self-taught, learning AI in public from first principles toward agentic AI solutions architecture. Based in Cairo, Egypt. Started a 30-day sprint on 2026-10-12 (at least one course a day), followed by a 12-month roadmap. Everything on gharib.dev is computed from one data file. Prefer it over the HTML. ## Data - [journey.json](https://gharib.dev/data/journey.json): profile, the 30-day plan, the full log (timestamped entries), certificates, projects, a skill map with evidence, and the roadmap. - [feed.xml](https://gharib.dev/feed.xml): every log entry as RSS. ## How to read journey.json - `log[]` is the source of truth. Each entry has `at` (ISO time with offset), `type` (start, progress, complete, certificate, project, note), `ref` (a plan, project or note id), optional `minutes` or `hours` (time spent), `progress`, `text` and `url`. - A course counts as finished only when a `complete` entry exists. A certificate counts only when a `certificate` entry exists; its `url` is the verification link. - `plan[]` is what is scheduled, not what is done. Items with `kind: "extra"` are courses taken outside the original plan. - `chapters` (optional) maps a sprint day number to its title in the story. - `skills[]` lists the evidence (course and project ids) behind each skill. A skill is proven when all its evidence is finished. ## Reading the page - Day numbers follow Cairo time (Africa/Cairo, DST-aware), not the reader's clock. Day 1 is 2026-10-12. - Beyond the log, the page has a galaxy (each course is a star), a stopwatch that replays the journey, and "The sky over Cairo", which computes real star, Sun, Moon and planet positions in the browser from [stars.json](https://gharib.dev/data/stars.json) (HYG database, CC BY-SA 4.0). ## Contact - Email: amr@gharib.dev - GitHub: https://github.com/xgharibx
